In the midst of judging a faithful saddle club show, I disqualified a lady, who insisted on riding two handed and carrying a crop in every class never using it. Finally I walked up to her at the end of show and questioned why she carried it, she responded, "I put the fear of god in him with it, I just carry it to remind him". I told her I had to disqualify her because of it, and she should keep the schooling at home and come enjoy the show.
She responded, "Why? Isn't this the point of a show, to show them at their best?"
I just nodded and walked away, how do you argue with that?
